Kraftwerk - The Robots
This is the band Kraftwerk and their song 'The Robots' who were the pioneers of the synthpop genre.
For example for why they are synth-pop in the song "The Robots" the band members are wearing matching shirt and tie, use simple shapes and colours and use various instruments like synthesizers and other similar instruments.
La Roux - Bullet Proof
The song Bullet proof by La Roux is a perfect example of modern synthpop, with its simple bright colours and blocky shapes and use of synthesizers.

Summary of ideas
Our music video will be me, Rachel and Jenny.
We will be filming three separate groups of people in which one of us will be a member of.
Each of us will be wearing a different bright coloured t-shirt.
Jenny will be filming her friends playing football, Rachel will be with her friends in a car and i will be filming with my friends hanging out at my friends house.
This will be to capture the fun and emotion from the different groups. We will also be filming partially at college using a green screen to film what we will be doing un the chorus, which will be stood apart from each other but wearing the sane coloured t-shirt but get closer and closer as the song goes on.
This will be all to show that we are close with the people in our groups and with other people outside of them.

Calvin Harris - The Girls
This is a very simple music video using only bright bold colours.
Its an all white background and particle white clothing, it envolves different groups of women wearing different colours orange, yellow, red, pink, purple, blue, green and white.
The colours change as the video goes on.
The camera flows with the dance moves and captures all the colours and makes Calvin Harris the centre of focus with all the women dancing around him.

Calvin Harris - Acceptable in the 80s
This was Calvin Harris's debut single that he realised.
This video is very retro and simple which users lots of bright colours through out.
There are random props like the otter being used when the two women are dancing, the two scientists dissecting it and various others things which have meanings behind them.
This is mostly filmed mid shot with some close ups and a view multiples of the screen, they happen as well as a change of movement and screen change when a certain beat is played.

Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris (born Adam Richard Wiles on 17 January 1984) is a scottish singer-song writer, record producer and DJ.
He released his debut album 'I created Disco' which was released in 2007 and included hit singles 'Acceptable in the 80s' and 'The Girls'.
He has also written and produced records for recording artists such as Kylie Minogue and her song 'X' and his number-one collaboration with rapper Dizzee Rascal, 'Dance Wiv Me'.
I have chosen Calvin Harris because he is well known in the music industry and i have always liked his music. His videos are always interesting and thought his music had a good beat and sound.
I feel the target audience is aimed more at the younger generation because of the beats and tempo. However the elder generation could also like this because of the older synth-pop type music like Kraftwerk and Human League.

History of sythpop
Synth-pop stated in in Germany as a genre of popular music which the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Is was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by synthesizer in progressive rock i.e bands like Pink Floyd.
In 1974 a band called Kraftwerk were making music more rhythmical and easier to understand. They released their international debut album 'Autobahn' which was a breakthrough.
Its a twenty minutes long car drive accompanied by synthesizers and sound effects. They were style-forming for the synth-pop.
By the end of the 1970s there appeared many artists, especially in England who used synthesizer as their main instrument.
For example Gary Newman, Ultravox, OMD and Human League. These artists were very much inspired by Kraftwerk.
Todays synth-pop genre of music include artists like Calvin Harris, La Roux and Owl City who still use the traditions of the music genre and have kept synth-pop music going strong and worldly known by many.

Digipaks
The picture on this cover not only reflects the title Intimacy, with two people being intimate by kissing but also represents how the music will bring people closer together.
Digipaks
A simple black background, with the name and title in the top left corner, coloured white and red.
The icicle in the middle represents the uniqueness of the band and the lager icicle with light connecting it to the previous one show’s how the band has come for but reminds the same unchanged band they were at the start.
Digipaks
The cover of this album shows a high starchier with the artists name on either side in a vertical way. Also an enlarged face in the centre and blinged up glasses, and the title saying ‘I created disco’ showing that his he is birth of the new generation of dance music.

On the right there are several tour dates written in big and at the bottom there is the website and telling you the album is out now featuring the realised singles.
This is showen like this as if to say its important to know the band and by their albums but its also important so see them touring and watching them live.
